Kali Moolah NorthAfrican Belly Dance Co. is proud to present - Amazing Zill workshop with Las Vegas, Turkish Style Raks Sharki "Belly Dance" Sensation, Lailah. Workshop will focus on Zill (Finger Symbol) Improvisation and Interpretation, interpreting the music and playing with and in-between rhythms while dancing, stage movement with grace.

Come sharpen your Raks Skills or experience something new that will ad a flair and fun fusion to your paticular dance style.

Kali Moolah North African Dance Co. is proud to bring from Chicago, Khaldiah Kali for Master Class at Freedom Theater, November 30th, 2008. This is a 2 1/2 hour Master Class focusing on Egyptian Raks Sharki: Posture, poise, body placement and fluidity, choreography including zill and veil work.

Having studied, danced and taugh in over 33 countries, Khalidah is excited to be back again in Philadelphia to share her warmth, experience and wealth of talent! Please join us for this phenomenal exchange!!!

"The production created an instantaneous buzz throughout the airways and by word of mouth. In the midst of the clamor of everyone who wanted a part of it, swirled up in the emotion as the dramaturgy recreated the experience, I wondered… As the stage lights dimmed…I wondered…did they hear us, are they preparing. To me the opportunity seemed so apropos that "Wade In The Water" opened in New York although many are still not aware of the various media reports that the next major hurricane is projected to devastate that area…

So many cried out for justice for what is believed to be an outright, orchestrated attempt to extract the lives of the poor, so-called "colored" in New Orleans. Thousands missing and displaced in the name of economic development so that the foggy few may get their hands on the oil coursing underneath the saturated ground Where are those voices now…where are all those who protested that we must join one unto another and do for our own. Asleep…once again…they have fallen asleep."

Message from the Author

We must possess and act upon the mindset of collective empowerment, healing, charity and compassion that extends beyond a mere moment of emotional attachment to a catastrophic event. For the responsibility we bear to each other and the coming generations is immense and it is paramount that we prepare as we are just beginning to feel the not so gentle breeze of Mother Earth as she cleanses Herself and her inhabitants. Irrespective of the assistance of unseen proxy to exact such devastation, what was witnessed in New Orleans was an ethereal cleansing, which shall not be that last of it’s kind. Perhaps the multitudes have decided to sleep walk themselves out of harms way. Either way, Mother shall continue to cleanse herself by any means necessary. Will you…Will we? Long ago we stopped going to the water…now the Water (SHE in the Kemetic) will come to us. Are you ready for the cleansing?
